Rocinante is a music bar where anyone can join an open mic-style jam session, playing or singing. You are just as welcome to listen or have a drink at the counter. First-timers and solo guests are welcome. No reservations — just walk in.

HOW TO JOIN

How to join

Head up to 3F
Walk 1 minute from Exit C8, Shinjuku-sanchome Station, to SS Dai-1 Bldg, 3F. Look for the sign outside. No reservations — just walk in.
Order a drink
Cover charge ¥1,000 plus a drink. Alcoholic and soft drinks ¥800; beer ¥1,000. All prices include tax.
Join in!
Sing, play, or just listen. The regular prices are the same for performers and listeners.

FIRST TIME?

First time? Questions & answers

Do I need to speak Japanese?: No Japanese needed. The owner speaks fluent English and will help you join a session.
Can I come if I don’t play an instrument?: Absolutely. You can listen, join in by singing, or simply have a drink at the counter. It is a bar, after all.
Can I come alone?: Yes. First-timers and solo guests are welcome.
Do I need a reservation?: No reservations — just walk in. Feel free to call us with any questions.
Does playing cost extra?: No. Performers and listeners pay the same regular prices: ¥1,000 cover charge plus a drink.
What time do you open?: We usually open at 18:00. Opening times can change, so check our official X or call us for today’s hours.
When do you close? Any days off?: Usually 18:00–01:00 the next day, every day. After the last train, we stay open until the last guest leaves, no later than 04:00. Opening times may change. Check our official X or call before visiting late at night.
Can the cover charge change?: The cover charge may change on days with a session host.
Do you have more expensive drinks?: Some special drinks start at ¥2,000. We tell you the price when you order.
